Learn Korean: Verb + 게 했다

Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern Verb + 게 했다. We use this to express what someone forced another person to do. If a bully in school forced me to hit some kids, I would report it to my mom say He forced me to hit some students. The main verb is 때리다 (to hit with hands). We take the verb stem and attach 게 했다. The actual sentence is (걔가) 애들을 때리게 했어요.

 

이상한 거 보게 했어요. 

He forced me to watch a strange (video).

돈을 훔치게 했어요.

She forced him to steal the money.

 

벌레를 먹게 했어요.

They forced her to eat worms.
