Learn Korean: 최애 + Noun

Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern 최애 + Noun. The word 최애 is short for 최고로 애정하다 which means someone or something one has a huge affection for. In other words, one’s most favorite. For example, if you claim to be a fan of BTS, I would ask you who your favorite member is. In internet language, we say bias. The keyword is 멤버 (member). We simply add 최애 before it as in 최애 멤버. The actual sentence is (BTS 중에) 최애 멤버가 누구야?

 최애 선물이야 이거.

This is my favorite gift.

최애 드라마가 뭐야?

What is your favorite drama?

걔 내 최애 배우야.

He’s my favorite actor.
