Learn Korean: 그 + Noun + 어떤
Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern 그 + Noun + 어떤. We use this to express that something is of high value or importance and what someone just did to it is frustrating. For example, I borrowed my mom’s money which she saved all her life and invested in something which I hoped could multiply it. Little did I know, it was a scam and the guy I entrusted the money to ran away. I said Oh my god, what did he do to the money?! Do you know how important that money is? It’s my mom’s hardwork! The keyword is 돈 (money). We say it twice, one after 그 and one after 어떤. Then, we add 인데. The actual sentence is 그 돈 어떤 돈인데!
이 옷이 어떤 옷인데.
Why did you spill wine on my dress! Do you know who owns this?
그 차가 어떤 차인데!
What did you just do to the car?! It's my
brother's.
그 목걸이 어떤 목걸이인데!
Why did you lose the necklace! Do you know
how expensive that is?!
