Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern Noun + 어때. The verb 어때 is the present conjugated form of 어떻다 which means to be how. We use this to ask someone what they think about a person or thing. If a friend cannot choose a food to eat, you can ask How about bibimbap? The main noun is 비빔밥 (Korean mixed rice). Then, we add 어때(요) at the end as in 비빔밥 어때? We can also use this to ask someone to describe a person or thing. If a friend went to Jeju, I would ask what she thinks about the hotel as in호텔이 어때? The past tense form is 어땠어(요).
