Learn Korean: Time + 내내
Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern Time + 내내. We use it to describe actions executed the entire time frame. It is essential to have basic knowledge on time expressions in Korean. Here are some of them: 일주일 (one week), 한 달 (one month), and 일년 (one year). Here’s what happens when 내내 is added to them. 일주일 내내 means the entire week, 한 달 내내 means the whole month, and 일년 내내 means the entire/whole year. It is followed by a verb. If am so grateful to someone for sending me a package of food, I would say I can eat this the whole month (나 이거 한 달 내내 먹을 수 있어). If I am staying in Busan from December to March, I would let you know and say I will be in Busan the entire winter (나 겨울 내내 부산에 있을 거야).
이번 주 내내
바빠.
I am busy this entire week.
여름 내내 집에
없을 것 같아.
I think I won’t be home the entire summer.
1년 내내 못 봐서 보고
싶지.
Of course I miss (them). I
haven’t seen (them) the whole year.
