Learn Korean: Active Verb + 다고 해도
Let's take a look at the Korean sentence pattern Active Verb + 다고 해도. We use this to express even if someone says that (sv). The statement should contain an active verb. For example, we say Even if you say you hate me. The main active verb is 싫어하다 (to hate or dislike). We take the verb stem (싫어하) and attach ㄴ다고. If the verb stem ends in a consonant, use 는다고. Then, we add 해도. The actual form is (네가) 날 싫어한다고 해도. We can use it in a variety of sentences. Let’s say the second part is it is okay (I'm okay with it). In Korean, it is 괜찮아(요). When combined, the actual sentence is (네가) 날 싫어한다고 해도 괜찮아(요) (Even if you say you hate me, it's okay).
