Learn Korean: 몇 시에 + Verb

Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern 몇 시에 + Verb. We use this to ask someone what time he does something. It is applicable to all tenses. For example, we say What time did you sleep last night? and What time do you usually get up? The main verbs are 자다 (to sleep) and 일어나다 (to get up). 몇 시에 comes before the verb and time expressions normally appears at the beginning of the sentence. The first question is in past tense, so we need to conjugate 자다 into its past form (잤다). The actual sentence is 어제/어젯밤에 몇 시에 잤어()? 어제 means yesterday and 어젯밤 means last night. The second question is in present tense. The actual sentence is 보통 몇 시에 일어나()? 보통 means usually.
