Learn Korean: Verb + 준비 됐다
Let’s take a look at the Korean sentence pattern Verb + 준비 됐다. We say 준비 됐어요 to say that we are ready to do something. We can also use it in question form to ask someone whether he is ready to take action. To specify what exactly, we can add a verb at the beginning.
Example #1: I am ready to get married. The main verb is 결혼하다 (to marry). We take the verb stem and attach ㄹ because it ends in a vowel. Then, we add 준비(가) 됐다. The actual sentence is 결혼할 준비(가) 됐어(요).
Example #2: Are you ready to die? The main verb is 죽다 (to die). We take the verb stem and attach 을 because it ends in a consonant. Then, we add 준비(가) 됐다. The actual sentence is 죽을 준비(가) 됐어(요)?
